The launch of GIVe, the new concept shop by George Davies, the creator of Next and per Una. At the GIVe shops, women are looked after by “style advisors” not shop assistants, to guide them to the best buy for their figure shape. Tailoring alterations are done instore at no extra charge and sizing is in Roman Numerals 1-V1, so no having to ask for a size 18 any more.

The designs are easy to wear, and some styles particularly well cut for women who have tums and disappearing waists to disguise.

My personal favourites were the tailored black dinner jackets and skirts- perfect for the Christmas party season.

I dropped into the preview of the fashion exhibition “Fit for a Princess” at London’s West End Mayfair Hotel. In collaboration with the Princess Alice Hospice, the Bentall centre is launching this exhibition on 26th September showcasing favourite party outfits from celebrities including Beverley Knight, Katherine Jenkins, Fearne Cotton, Twiggy and The Saturdays. These dresses will be auctioned on eBay from 19th October with proceeds going to the Hospice.
