QVC TV shopping channel for Bob Mackie Monday and Tuesday

Looking forward to my next QVC appearances for BOB MACKIE WEARABLE ART. Monday 29th 11am and 7pm. Tuesday 10am and 10pm.

As I get sent a preview selection of the styles, I can tip you off that you will love this latest selection, especially to wear during the Christmas festivities.
Bob Mackie Wearable Art is cut to be flattering, to get you noticed and even allow you to indulge in all that naughty Christmas food, whilst still looking glamorous and feeling comfortable….even if you’ve expanded an inch or two around the waist (as we all do over this period)!

Do tune in- you could even call in to say “hi” whilst we’re on air. it’s always lovely to hear from you with your comments about why you too love Bob Mackie.

6th form style and self-presentation at the Medina High School IOW

Had a great day with the lower 6th form girls at the Medina High school, Newport IOW. My workshop was to help them with first impressions, self-confidence, self-presentation and body-language for job and uni interviews. We also discussed posture, style, air-brushing and a bit of celebrity gossip, and who’d been wearing what on Xfactor.

Loved meeting the girls, was so impressed with the school facilities and also the girls who already had Uni placements- congratulations especially on the pupil who had won a drama place in New York!

bra fitting

With the publication of the recent feature in Easy Living on my one-2-one lingerie fit sessions, I have been inundated with enquiries. It is so interesting to see how the correct fitting bra can actually change a woman’s life. The most recent example was a client with a very large bust- a problem bust that had been a weighty problem throughout her adult life- to be exact aprroximately a 44F problem – she thought.

The final size we ended up with was 4 back sizes down! Wearing such a substantially smaller back size changed her whole body shape, changed how her clothes looked and reduced her bust shape from unshapely Anne Widdecombe proportions to simply a large bust sitting in the correct place also giving her a midriff and waist.

The bra that created a great look for her was this one by Elila, from RedCarpetUndies

I am always so happy when I literally change someone’s life.

Discover the New You workshop

I hosted 2 successful bespoke “Discover the New You” small group workshops this week. One at a client’s private house, and the other at the boutique hotel-myhotelChelsea.
My new intern assistant, Ellen, who has never been to one of my style and image evenings has written this blog entry from her viewpoint.

“I assisted Ceril Campbell at her popular monthly ‘Discover The New You’ workshop. A small group of women in their 40’s attended. They enjoyed complimentary champagne, whilst they shared their concerns with Ceril about bodyshape and ageing issues and what they would like to achieve from the workshop. Their body shapes ranged from hourglass to straight up and down, from apple to pear shaped, as well as a couple of the women who were self -conscious about their bust size. Ceril explained which styles of clothing would be best for their different shapes, and how to dress to flatter and create an illusion- and importantly how to dress age appropriately, not as the proverbial mutton. Ceril discussed and showed examples of lingerie solutions that can slim and shape. Waist clinchers for that 50’s hourglass figure, pants that smooth the tummy, and stick on bra solutions for those backless Christmas party dresses.

All of these as well as other fantastic shapewear can be found on Ceril’s lingerie website: www.redcarpetundies.com

One of my favourite parts of the workshop was discovering which colours suit which skin tones. As a rule of thumb, I understood that you have yellow or pink undertones, and this determines which shade of colour looks best against your skin.

I finally helped arrange some key wardrobe items and accessories for Ceril’s guests to show her their new honed styling skills. As an observer, I thought the evening was fantastic and such fun! Ceril hosts bespoke workshops from small groups to large events, so not only is it a great bonding session between groups of friends, but also a chance to meet new people, have fun with fashion and really Discover The New You”

Bob Mackie shows today on QVC fashion weekend

p>3 Bob Mackie wearable art shows today on QVC. 9am, 3pm and 9pm. Loving the tops I am wearing today. It’s always great when I roll up to the studios first thing in the morning feeling and looking drab and grey and then transform into something that hopefully verges on the more glamorous with the help of lots of makeup and the flatteringly cut Bob Mackie styling.

BREAST CANCER CARE event for QVC TV from 7-10pm

QVC TV‘s Breast Cancer Care event is a live 3 hour show from 19.00-22.00 on Wednesday 13th October.
It’s for the Breast Cancer Care charity, and is a mix of 3 hours of various types of product. Some have been made especially for the show (like the Bob Mackie T-shirt), or as donated products from QVC vendors. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer Care. All presenters and guests including myself donate our time for the Charity.

There will be manned phone lines for customers to ring in with donations, so it has very much a ‘Children in Need’ style feel to the programme.

The T-shirt design donated by Bob Mackie is from an original Bob Mackie Artwork especially designed for this event and is inspired by Liza (Minnelli)!
It’s on a cotton basic T-shirt style and will sell for £11.44.
A small price for a great cause.

I am really looking forward to being part of this fantastic event, both on screen for Bob Mackie and later taking phone calls and hope that we raise substantial sums of money for this worthwhile charity. I will be on air around 7.30pm.

I will also be on QVC TV for Bob Mackie Wearable Art again on Sunday 17th October at 9am, 3pm and 9pm.

Private one-to-one client

A day with one of my private clients for a de-clutter of wardrobe and home. It was such a enjoyable experience going through her amazing collection of saris, all in the most beautiful fabrics and colours and mixing and matching East with West.

We created huge amounts of new wardrobe space- (not by throwing out clothes) but by re-arranging and using space more cleverly, with advice on how to re-style her dressing room with new inexpensive floating shelves for shoe displays, and boxes for hiding accessories. We did manage to remove a few clothes to give away, alter and repair.

We then moved into the living room, where I “staged” shelves in the apartment with collections of very varied memorabilia collected from round the world. Everything from small rocks to masks which had been languishing in plastic bags. These personal items now sit in attractively styled groupings for everyone to admire.

I loved my day there. It was such a pleasure.
