It’s never too late

It's never too late...
.
To take up paddleboarding.
.
This was the first day after the whole of this Summer that we took out the paddle board.
.
Very wobbly in spite of core strengthening pilates classes twice a week throughout the Summer and a 121 boxing session each week.
.
Maybe it was the volume of food consumed over the last few weeks 
Or
@misslucy_lou pacing up and down the board. .

.

In the newspaper today the headline is "1 in 3 Britons admit they are guilty of ageism"

Maybe it's more how you feel about yourself....

This morning's swim in the sea made me feel good... both mentally and physically.

My old body feels and moves so much better when I do a minimum of 1 Pilates class a week

My old body feels and moves so much better when I do a minimum of 1 Pilates class a week. .
3 classes would be optimum but when both work and social life is busy, it's difficult to fit everything in and motivation to get up at 6am for a 7am class is less strong after a few consecutive nights out and just a glass or two of rose. ......

Reformer Pilates Scissors exercise using only one strap at a time for core stability, abs and hip flexors.
.
Making sure that the hips stay still, back stays in neutral and lower abs and glutes remain switched on. .

My wardrobe is eclectic and comprised of clothes bought randomly over many years

My wardrobe is eclectic and comprised of clothes bought randomly over many years.
.
How I chose to wear the mix of clothes each day depends on my mood.
Sometimes it's a baby pink day. 
It's whatever makes me feel good.
.
The moment I look at my choice of outfit and put it on, if it doesn't fill me with joy, then it's off with it straight away and a different outfit chosen. 
It doesn't have to be expensive, designer or even special.

But each outfit always has to flatter and fit my body shape and colouring.
Make me feel good the moment I put it on.
And 
Most importantly...
Love what I see in the mirror as a whole
with no judgement or critique of my body.
.
No one is perfect.
Imperfections are what make me and you unique and special.
.
Next week is mental health week 
And I will be discussing positive body image
In three public speaking engagements.

Feeling good... three days ago to Bank Holiday Monday beach walk.

Wearing my favourite pair of limited edition embroidered @zara jeans ( past season) 
Cashmere sweater @marksandspencer ( past season) .
Walking 20 minutes every day at a brisk pace helps keep a healthy heart and the circulation moving and the digestion working. Exercise, especially outdoors, also helps release that 'happy-feeling-good' hormone seratonin.
.
Try to have some 'me time' every day and do something that brings joy and happiness into your life. .

Mother and daughter reformer Pilates

Mother and daughter reformer Pilates.
She's the one further away obvs
.
This exercise is for the lower abs, core, glutes and also arms. .
To raise the intensity of the exercise the legs can be scissored lower just as my daughter is doing.
