#bekindtoyourself is my message for today

is my message for today.
.
When we try to set goals for ourselves that are often not achievable, we wonder why - especially when we are recovering from trauma.
.
Trauma can manifest in many ways and can take us by surprise blindsiding us - and create an unexpected emotional rollercoaster - leaving us exhausted, unable to concentrate or focus for any length of time and also unexplicably weepy at the slightest triggers - whether it is simply a friend's kindness towards us or a metaphorical mountain climbed that day for the first time.
.
Trauma is an emotional response from a serious shock experienced by our bodies and can create levels of PTSD causing these heightened emotions that leave us wondering why we are like this. Major surgery can be one such cause.
.
I only discovered this today from my surgeon who explained that it can take up to 3 months to recuperate mentally (not physically) from such major surgery. This is not just the effects of the anaesthetic and drugs etc but the extreme trauma the body has experienced.
.
I had only considered the physical aspect of recovery especially as my mental wellness has always been a given.
.
So even if you are usually focused and driven in your daily life - achieving your daily goals and more - cut yourself some slack if you are recovering from any sort of trauma and give your body and your mind time to heal..
.

Cooking and eating healthily is important, when you’re in Corona lock-down or self-isolation.

Our grandparents were clever to never waste any food. They had to be. They were rationed. We are used to abundance so I’m going to be demonstrating my ways of using leftovers for tasty recipes that could stretch across a week.
Video clip 1 is a Sunday roast- chicken, baked potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic.
Photos are a chicken, leek and onion pie with the remainder of the roast potatoes sliced on top and then baked in the oven topped with seeds and breadcrumbs (that fell off my sourdough loaf when I sliced it) and olive oil on top.
Video 2 chicken stock from all the meat and veg remains and additional herbs and leeks and onions and green vegetable water.
Healthy eating helps immunity.

I continue on with my own regular skin care routine of BDR facial products together with an occasional BDR medical grade facial

I continue on with my own regular skin care routine of BDR facial products together with an occasional BDR medical grade facial as it helps my 65- year old ageing skin feel plumped and refreshed without the intervention -yet- of any non- surgical tweaks.
.
But I do like to see what is going on the future of tweakments often via the lovely @alicehartdavis
In this way I can give an unbiased opinion when asked by my lifestyle clients.
.
I'm a bit of a coward and personally not a great fan of any needles- blood tests or cosmetic however... if you aren't too squeamish watch this series of video clips I filmed this week ( through half-closed fingers ) at Cosmesurge - Harley st London.
.
These are a few options of tweaks you could do - if you so wished- for your hands, your nose, and a brow lift. .
You can see in the video clips the Ellanse injections in both the hands and temples.
And a brow thread lift.
On both you can see the significant improvement before and after on the two sides of the lady's hands and face.
These procedures can go on showing improvement for up to 3 months and can last for up to 3 years as the collagen re- building kicks in ( i hope I'm correct in this )?
.
It is always important if you are to have any of these tweaks that you choose a top aesthetician, surgeon and clinic.
Not a back room in some local beauty salon.
All procedures do have an element of risk.

Road testing another skin hydration and plumping supplement

This is a liquid 7 day course by Aethern. .
Optimum results can be seen apparently after 3 months of regular use.
.
I’m now on the 2nd day of this supplement. Taking a dose at breakfast time after a min of 12 hours overnight intermittent fasting break. The taste is fruity- not unpleasant- but you can mix it with a fruit juice too.
.
It contains
Collagen peptides ( help firm and maintain skin elasticity)
Hyaluronic acid ( helps hydration and deep lines and wrinkles)
Silicon ( helps improve skin texture)
Astaxanthin (an antioxidant thst helps collagen regenerate)
Polyphenols ( anti- inflammatory antioxidants)
Also
Magnesium, beta- carotene, zinc, vit B5, vit E, lutein, selenium.
.
More on Aethern skin beauty can be found online. It’s a brand new product @johnbellandcroyden

I’m road testing two brand new nutritional supplements this week

I’m road testing two brand new nutritional supplements this week.

This one is called Zenii and can help plump and hydrate the skin. Good skin care isn’t just about the beauty products you put on your skin- but living a healthy lifestyle with attention to the food you eat and how much water you drink.

As we age the skin loses its collagen, elastin & hyaluronic acid content. So this is a supplement that aims to address these issues.

ProHydrate by ZENii
contains:
Hyaluronic acid to help maintain skin hydration.
Coconut water also for skin rehydration.
MSM as an anti-inflammatory and skin detoxificator.
Vitamin C as an antioxidant.
Zinc for healing and rejuvenation.

I would think that the results of any course of supplements or treatments will be more apparent and keep improving after a couple of months rather than in just one month. But we all have to start somewhere.

Zenii ProHydrate is available from John Bell and Croyden in London and online.
I’ll let you know my own results in a month.

I mostly work with lifestyle clients consulting and advising on personal brand, image and style But often also on interiors.

I mostly work with lifestyle clients consulting and advising on personal brand, image and style
But often also on
interiors. .
This is the brilliant new Karndean flooring that I have recently put in the top floor of this Fulham house.
I am so impressed with it as it really does look and feel exactly like wood. .
It's from the Karndean Korlock range and the colour is Texas White Ash. It has accoustic foam backing for soundproofing and is especially good for top floor bedrooms and apartments. .
I' ve always been an engineered wood flooring advocate for my interiors styling clients until now. I think I may just have had my head turned by Karndean.
.
The photos are of the master bedroom and dressing room.
