For those who have only ever practised mat-based Pilates classes, I am going to regularly demo together with @lukemeessmann @absolutestudios how Reformer pilates exercises can be tailored to every ability- beginner or expert.

Small steps.

When life is tough don't give up.
It's easy in January to make all those unrealistic  resolutions and set yourself up to fail.
.
So start your journey with small steps.
A step by step change of thinking.
.
It could be that you want to:
Change your life.
Become fitter, healthier.
It could be anything........
.
Start each day when you wake up to be grateful for 3 things in your life. That way the day will begin  on a positive note.
.
Remove any negativity and replace with positivity and the possibilities of what you can achieve with each of those small steps.
.
Be the master of your own destiny.
.
.
.

We should vary our daily diet as much as we can, eating colourful vegetables as much as possible

We should vary our daily diet as much as we can, eating colourful vegetables as much as possible.

This was my super-healthy protein and good carbs breakfast today consisting of purple sprouting broccoli, purple sweet potatoes and organic eggs with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. .
All brightly coloured fruit and vegetables contain antioxidants – compounds which play a key role in protecting our bodies – and many naturally purple-coloured foods contain an antioxidant called anthocyanin. This is a beneficial plant pigment which gives fruit and veg their deep red, purple or blue hues.

This antioxidant can help your immune system and reduce inflammation in the body. .

Whatever challenges you may be privately facing - get out there and try something new.

It's good for your mental health, your fitness and your wellbeing too.

Do our followers really want to know what's going on in our private lives?  Yes or no? .
Maybe if it can inspire? ...

I only want to inspire and motivate with positive messages and images. 
Showing how to be age proud at 65 years old, have body confidence, live a healthy and active lifestyle, have good mental health and that it's never too late to try anything new.

Its important to stay flexible as you grow older.
.
Not necessarily as flexible as myself as I have hyper-mobility which is not a good thing so I have to be careful to not over-stretch.
Especially as I had a hip resurface ( like Andy Murray) a few years ago.
.
However exercising, stretching and moving every day, even if its just a 20 min dog walk will make a difference to your body, how you feel and also your mental health.
.
.

Final day of my 5 day fast-mimicking Prolon diet

Final day of my 5 day fast-mimicking Prolon diet.

From tomorrow, I will be eating predominantly vegetables and slowly re-introducing protein with fish and chicken back into my daily diet.
.
As my 65th birthday approaches,  I felt it increasingly important to take stock of my health, returning to healthy eating and regular exercise as it had all gone pear-shaped during the Summer.
.
Friends say to me "but you look fine as you are" you don't need to lose weight" but visceral fat ( the internal fat around your organs can also be inside a slim or even skinny person.  Also we all know that to look good we need to FEEL good as well.
.
Visceral fat is a type of body fat that can’t be pinched or seen with the naked eye, and it surrounds vital organs, including the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Keeping levels of visceral fat can reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, the onset of type 2 diabetes and many other illnesses.
