When Liberty X were runners up in 2001 on ITV’s “Popstars The Rivals ”
I was the 1st person to style and create a cohesive image for them to move forward in their music career as a chart topping band.
I worked together with them on their hairstyles, clothes and public image.

Celebrity styling Home staging UK Interiors Lifestyle Property

#interiors #property #celebrity #stylist #style #makeovers

With the success of my Ceril Campbell, Style Your Life, lifestyle and celebrity style business spanning 30 years, where I created style transformations for A-list stars including Ringo Starr, Darcey Bussell CBE, Zara Phillips and Serena Williams and consulted for style projects to worldwide brands such as Sony, Schwarzkopf, Deloitte and the BBC, I found clients were asking me to add Interior design, Property build transformations and Home-staging to my lifestyle services.  So I did!

The same design criteria apply in creating a stylish lasting first impression that wows.
Whether it’s for the actual client personally, or for their property.
Their home is an extension of their personality.

I like to understand clients’ lifestyle, budget, goals and aspirations.
Their requirements in what they wish to achieve with my expertise and within budget.
I work with proportion and balance, light and shade for a successful end result of best first impressions.

First impressions are all important.

The art of Illusion is also key.
Room interiors and body shape proportions both need clever tricks to enhance and disguise and create balance in designing the overall look and the final dressing.
North or South facing rooms, and our facial skin tones both require specific colour choices to reflect light and enhance.

I also take the following into consideration:

A property’s current value and likely end value before and after build or staging.
A property’s location. It is pointless to overspend on building works if the property value is capped, due to where it is situated.

I can improve a property’s value with a small or big transformation, according to budget and time,
working with an architect and builders on a design and build project
or
with an instant style makeover or simply a de-clutter.
or
with home staging, and creative use of furniture, furnishings, artwork and accessories,
I can make a dull space interesting, demonstrate how a large empty space can be divided into living areas, how a tired unloved ex-rental property can be shown to be once again to be a desirable comfortable family home that is attractive to buyers, at a premium price.

Home staging, furnishing and styling an empty property to sell, offers prospective purchasers a glimpse into how they could live in this property.

My transformations are never impersonal or formulaic, but offer warmth and individuality, showing an aspirational lifestyle appealing and targeted specifically to the likely property applicants in each area.

Celebrity styling Exhibitions Fashion Lifestyle

Savage Beauty at the V & A
What an amazing exhibition!
A visual treat.
I was one of the lucky ones invited to go to the press preview ahead of the celebrity event in the evening with Victoria and David Beckham, Kate Moss and all.

As a celebrity stylist I was invited to most of Alexander McQueen’s fashion shows during London Fashion Weeks. I went to his very first show ever, when he was the avant-garde controversial new boy on the fashion block.
This was held at the old Bluebird garage, a then derelict building on the KIngs Road, Chelsea which is now the Conran Bluebird bar and restaurant.
This first show was shocking to the audience as it was a fashion game changer with “bumster” trousers- the first time ever anyone had seen very low-rise, low slung androgynous trousers. His extraordinary creative talent, especially for tailoring, was already evident.

He was very particular about which press publications were allowed into his shows and which celebrities could wear his creations. There were many who were deemed not suitable.
I wonder how he would now view the transformed image of Victoria Beckham …….

The following photos that I took at the exhibition, need no words, as I believe they speak for themselves as a selection of McQueen’s talent and artistry in fashion.

joan collins makeup lineI have just been sent some of the new Joan Collins Timeless Beauty range to try out on one of my 1-2-1 lifestyle client’s makeup. This range has luxurious packaging, great quality products and will aspire to the more mature woman who aspires to Joan’s own timeless beauty. A few of the products I tried were: mascara- this gave instant lush lashes, but you need to be careful as you apply that it doesnt end up on lids, as seemed to not dry quickly on application eyebrow pencil duo- great pencil, charcoal/light brown -this colour best for a dark haired person fade to perfect concealer- medium- slightly too pink toned- would love to have tried out the light colour which may suit more skin tones eye shadow quad- moody browns and gold- love the gold shadow container and the mix of browns, pink and gold is a great combination lipstick-Marilyn- a raspberry pink. the lipstick applied well. A great range in packaging that looks super expensive

#Thebigreunion #B*witched #LibertyX #Honeyz #celebritystylist Thought you may like a photographic glimpse into my past life as a Celebrity stylist. I created looks for all these bands when they very first started. #B*witched #LibertyX #Honeyz
These are some polaroid pix from my celebrity archive. The Liberty X photos include a before pic as well. I was the first stylist to give them a total makeover and suggest coloured hair extensions.

"Ballgowns:British glamour since 1950" at the V&A

Although my new business is now focused on #styleforless -styling and staging home interiors for sale or rent, I will always love fashion and especially fashions that make women feel and look glamorous. Creating Red Carpet Glamour has always been part of my life.

It was fascinating seeing the selection of British ballgowns through the ages and also seeing how our body proportions have changed so much from an impossibly tiny 20″ waist hourglass figure.

It was also particularly interesting for me, as I had worked with practically all of the Couture Designers exhibited whilst dressing my own celebrity clients over the last 25 years. I had even used a couple of the dresses shown.

Looking forward to dropping into the next V&A exhibition. They are always staged so beautifully.

Kenny Everett on TV tonight

As there is a whole TV night tonight about the late comedian, Kenny Everett, I thought I would mention that…….. In the 1980's, when I was styling celebrities and designing costumes for Films, TV series and commercials, I created many of Kenny Everett's famous characters together with him and his TV series producer Ray Cameron. The late Ray Cameron is Michael Mcintyre's dad, and Ray, Kenny and Kati (Ray's wife and Michael's mum) and I all hung out together. I still have the video of myself and Kenny in his dressing room dressed in “all in the best possible taste” – dress and frilly knickers! Kenny will always be sorely missed. He was such an amazing talent.
