However I only kept the bun on the burger for the purposes of this photo
And then…. I removed it.

If I’m going to have a carb treat with yummy thrice-cooked chips
then I would never have a 2nd loading of carbs with the burger bun. .
One portion of simple carbs (not the healthier option of complex carbs) is plenty! Simple carbs such as bread, pastries, cakes, pasta etc give a sugar spike to your blood sugar levels giving you an energy high and then a rapid low.
.
.
So here we have a yummy healthy home-made beefburger, ( minus bun) gherkin, slice of cheese, bacon, fried onions, salad, and home-cooked fries.
Thank you @hungrybear.tk delish! .

However lets call this brunch as I waited 16 hours from my last meal of yesterday to 10am today to eat.
.
This is my intermittent fasting regime where I wait 16-18 hours between dinner and breakfast. I then squeeze the only other meal of the day into a small window of time before 6pm again. .
This is my easy to do solution to an ongoing lifestyle weight maintenance ( NOT diet) when I know I am going to need to be feeling and looking my best.
.
And this is how I help my clients when they want to lose weight and have been historically unsuccessful over the years with yo-yo dieting.
.
Its not calorie restrictive, however it is restrictive on cutting out all sugar, white simple carbs like potatoes, cakes, pastry, pasta, and most wheat and grains.
.
There is sourdough toast in my photo today but sometimes a little of what you fancy is better than denying yourself and craving it. .
And yes, I did put butter on the toast too as eating some healthy fats will satisfy and help you feel fuller longer.

The last day of an Indian Summer with lunch by the sea with a healthy but delicious Asian fusion mix of scallop, seabass and tempura prawn on a bed of vegetables, noodles and peanuts.
.
It’s so easy to eat healthily when it’s presented beautifully and tastes delcious.
Its all about the flavours.
.
Even when you are cooking at home, however simple or basic the recipe or meal, if you take a bit of extra care and time to make it look appetising on the plate, you will feel more satisfied on a smaller portion.
You will crave less of the unhealthy sugary carb laden foods which give high/low spikes to your blood sugar and energy levels.
