#kitchens #interiors #styling #homestaging #london #property for sale

This the view of the clients empty Kitchen before staging. I felt that the kitchen had no heart with no island, workbench or table and had become simply a walkway to the far room which will be the dining room.
So this is what I did…..

I added a long narrow vintage zinc-topped table found in Portobello Road, to create a work space between the stainless steel kitchen cabinets worktop and the fridge. I felt a central island table would have taken over and would have made the kitchen space feel smaller.
I sourced an industrial style metal and wood stool to compliment the table
Styling details I added are vintage wooden crates with fake ferns to create extra interest in a “dead” corner.
Other styling details you can see from this angle are a wall clock, a metal bowl with some fake pears to add a flash of colour, herb pots on the window sill, an inscribed cheese board on top of the ovens. The picture below is a different view of the empty kitchen before staging.

Styling details: A retro kitchen scales picking up the duck egg blue that can be seen the dining room, a Dualit kettle, cook books, a wall clock with the same blue shade and herbs in metal containers.
In this final photos you can see a glimpse of the hall and the vintage industrial style wood workbench

#homestaging #interiors #styling #property how I got the look for client’s drawing room study area

The far end of a double drawing room can often be under-used and can be simply utilised as a walk-through area. I wanted to make sure that prospective buyers could see that it was a valid usable living space so created a study and reading area.
Vintage desk and desk sourced from inexpensive antique/bric a brac shops in Notting Hill and Fulham, London,
Anglepoise lamp from Auction sale rooms
Leather chair from Barker and Stonehouse
Artwork original 50’s prints from Surface View

The photos below are views of the room before styling.

#homestaging #interior #styling #London how I got the look

The object of home-staging an empty property to sell, is to maximise its selling price with a completed sale in the shortest possible time.
Creating an aspirational lifestyle and illusion of interior space and ceiling heights, whilst hiding any noticeable build or design flaws that may affect the buyers price offer is also important

This drawing room is long and narrow, with irregular wall alcoves.
the owners made the fireplace and TV the main feature so the room needs to be styled to address this.
the furniture I chose couldn’t be too large so that the room still appeared spacious.
A neutral colour scheme has colour from the artwork and flowers, picking up the lilacs and yellows from the coloured coffee table panels

This calm and restful drawing room feels homely and stylish, neutral but not bland, with some individuality.

With the success of having styled Celebrities for the Red Carpet,
Styling “real” people in their day to day life, helping them to both look and feel good from inside out,
and writing the book “Discover the New you- Celebrity stylist secrets to transform your life”
I am now focusing on Interior styling and Home staging properties in the UK

With over 25 years in the styling business, I have picked up loads of clever tricks and tips to create stylish interiors whatever your budget- low or high. Mixing the inexpensive with the expensive, and finding unique pieces that work together with personal items or antiques, or creating an aspirational lifestyle in an empty home.

The property below is a client’s empty property which I home staged to create a show home for sale, that felt lived in and unique, appealing to the prospective target demographic audience in SW London.

Fulham & Chelsea Lifestyle & #property #styling expert @ jewellery & champagne launch

As a lifestyle and property styling expert working around Chelsea and Fulham, I love going to see new properties around central London. Last night I was invited to the amazing headquarters in West Eaton Place of the Royal Demeure Hotel group was the venue for the launch of Niquesa jewellery with the added bonus of delicious Virginie Taittinger champagne. Amongst the celebrity guests I chatted to were Santa Sebag-Montefiore and the actor Patrick Ryecart who was one of the most amusing men I have met for a long time. A great evening!

#interiors #style before & after makeovers

This bedroom carries through the property’s vintage seaside theme with seaside bunting, a 70’s style crochet throw on the bed & a ‘love’ message embroidered on the cushion. Bright coloured cushions pick up the multi-colours of the throw.

The windows are styled with shutters by Openandshut giving privacy and light.

#interiors #style before & after garden makeovers

The garden was tired and unloved from previous owners, with the side fence needing replacing, the paving stones uneven & random, and the little planting that existed only overgrown ivy. Within the agreed budget we removed the old fencing, took away the old ivy and added new planting areas, added new trellis & fencing and created new paved/stepping stone/shingle areas.
We took into account where the sun was at various times of day in the garden & how the garden may be used by the new house owners. The garden was made-over in a week during snow/rain & worst Winter weather.

I wanted the garden to become an outside room echoing the Farrar & Ball Interior tonal greys. The new look low-maintenance garden was created using blue slate paving and a mix of blue & green slate chips. The fencing was renewed, new trellis added and the old ivy & planting removed. Palms, Cordylines & evergreen climbers (white flowering Clematis & blue Ceanothus) were planted. The grey low table & chairs is by Pagoda Furniture. I wanted the furniture to blend with the garden colour and not take over. Fake hyacinths add blue pops of vibrant colour and extra fake ferns & snowdrops and small plants on the ladder add some detail.

This brand new sleek white gloss bespoke kitchen by SUSSEX DESIGNS and appliances from?APPLIANCE GIANTS needed some colour to bring the kitchen to life. Orange creates this bright pop styled together with black accessories too. I sourced all the accessories from vintage shops and TK Maxx.

#interiors #style poolside chalets

The dining area under the vine is cool and shady in the Summer. As it’s the second dining area poolside, I found an inexpensive nearly new teak table/8 chairs to buy from the local County Press newspaper.
The kidney shape pool is difficult to cover with a simple pool cover, due to its irregular shape, so pod-style solar pads help to cover and heat the pool from H20fun.co.uk pool supplies.
