The dining area of this kitchen required a long narrow table approx 3x10ft to fill the space. I found a fantastic shabby chic table from LITTLETREE furniture teamed with with pale grey calico covered chairs to help transform the space from daytime family to glamorous dinner party. The length of wall needed artwork to pull together the whole kitchen amp; dining area. 3 inexpensive abstract artworks have been used as a tryptich on the wall. These pick up the lime green colour of the kitchen stools amp; placemats. Fake fruit amp; veg add extra colour amp; interest to the table styling. http://www.satellitedishcanada.com/

I wanted to add interest and focus on the shelf behind the range cooker, so I styled this cooking area with a tall pepper pot, colourful infused oil bottle and shabby chic jug of cooking utensils. read more

Chatting to Stephen Nolan on BBC Radio 5 live about whether or not men should go grey gracefully or dye their hair. I think that men should allow themselves to become sexy silver foxes. In my opinion grey hair on a man doesn’t make him look older, simply more distinguished.

QVC customer shopping event

10am-1pm- a morning at QVC with fans of the QVC fashion brands. There was a fashion show and a Q&A with myself, as brand ambassador for Bob Mackie. It was really interesting meeting the ladies who watch and buy Bob Mackie. It is always good to know who your audience is and what they love about the Bob Mackie Wearable Art designs.

Private one-to-one client

A day with one of my private clients for a de-clutter of wardrobe and home. It was such a enjoyable experience going through her amazing collection of saris, all in the most beautiful fabrics and colours and mixing and matching East with West.

We created huge amounts of new wardrobe space- (not by throwing out clothes) but by re-arranging and using space more cleverly, with advice on how to re-style her dressing room with new inexpensive floating shelves for shoe displays, and boxes for hiding accessories. We did manage to remove a few clothes to give away, alter and repair.

We then moved into the living room, where I “staged” shelves in the apartment with collections of very varied memorabilia collected from round the world. Everything from small rocks to masks which had been languishing in plastic bags. These personal items now sit in attractively styled groupings for everyone to admire.

I loved my day there. It was such a pleasure.

Medina High School Isle of Wight

Off to Medina High School, Isle of Wight to meet the headmistress, Headboy and Headgirl. On Thursday 11th November I will be spending the day with groups of 6th form girls and boys to do workshops with them on first impressions, body language, how to dress for Uni and job interviews, self-perception and more. Really looking forward to working with the school. It gives its pupils such amazing opportunities to reach their potential and has fantastic facilities.

There’s hope for us all!

This photograph, in today’s Daily Mail, shows actress Christina Hendricks (from TV’s Mad Men series) wearing cargo trousers, flip flops, t-shirt and a cardigan, no makeup and specs, looking absolutely normal. This just goes to show that there’s hope for us all. However we look on an everyday basis, we all can look fabulous too with the help of good makeup and hair styling/cut, and properly fitted underwear and shapewear that gives curves in the right places. Clothes that flatter and suit the bodyshape- (in Christina’s case a curvaceous hourglass)- will simply be the icing on the cake.

See, there’s hope for us all without airbrushing or cosmetic surgery. It’s all about learning how to make the most of yourself when you need to!
