Endermologie at the Beauty Clinic Fulham SW6

Now back from my travels, I can restart the course of Endermologie treatments that I embarked upon before I left. Leaving a 3 week gap in the middle of a course of treatments is not the best way to achieve great results, but onwards and upwards, combining the next 5 treatments with as much exercise as I can fit in my week and also a very healthy diet.

Lucy who owns The Beauty Clinic, who gave me my treatment yesterday, studied nutrition. She gave me all sorts of good advice on how best to shift fat and water retention and keep it off. Apparently, although a protein only diet is instantly successful, the moment you vary the diet with the addition of carbs and normal eating again, the body goes into shock and piles the weight back again.

So…… I shall now be eating a sensible mix of protein, vegetables, brown rice or quinoa, an occasional piece of fruit with nuts/seeds at the same time and no carbs in the evening. As little wine as possible, vodka preferably(less sugar) and lots of water.

Looking forward to seeing changes each day now in my new body……

Endermologie treatment

Now on to my 4th Endermologie treatment at the Beauty Spot, Fulham SW6.

Together with following a really strict diet ready for my bikini body next week, I can really begin to see a difference – especially in my legs.

Should I be wearing a bikini at my age? I think tanned skin always looks better, and I’ll cover up with a sarong to walk around… Don’t want to shock people too much!!!

Rhodes To Heaven beauty products

I have been testing a fabulous range of all natural beauty products that were introduced to me by their creator, Annabel Rhodes whom I recently met in the Isle of Wight.

Amongst the range of 17 products the favourites that I have been using are:
The Juniperberry Cleanser and Tonic
on my face and neck twice daily to remove makeup, cleanse and tone- smells delicious and is wonderfully cooling on the skin, especially around the eye area.
The All in One Rose Refining Skin Polish cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises and really does smell of roses.
This product I have used once a week is
The All in One Rose facial rescue moisturiser and I have been alternating it with
The Orange Skin Food moisturiser

I have been using
the Body Scrub in the shower and then the
revitalising Body balm to moisturise.

Loving loving loving all these products as they are so easy to use and they all do more than one thing and really are all natural and smell wonderful

Apparently Rhodes to Heaven has quite a few celebrity clients and word has it that the Duchess of Cornwall is a fan!

CAVISLIM cellulite-eliminator machine

Would I love to get rid of it? Yes!
What better way to zap it, than to be offered the chance with a brand new home-use machine….

So I now have a CAVISLIM Cavitation machine in my sitting room ready to try out over the course of the next 6 weeks whilst I watch TV.
CAVISLIM is a brand new home-use hand-held machine that can help to reduce and eliminate the build up of fat and cellulite using a new type of Ultrasound technology.

I loooooove beauty gadgets and am always happy to try and test any new technology that offers me the chance to improve and “hone” my non-too-perfect body! Unfortunately, being such a busy person with my work, I think I may be a better candidate for testing any treatments that enable me to be passive, or even asleep, whilst they are administered in a salon rather than having to be the treatment practitioner myself.

The Cavislim is however very simple to set up and I diligently followed the instructions. But it does need a certain amount of dedication and time to sit and massage the specific sections of your body with the hand held device. Although only 15 minutes application per body section is allowed-no more than 2 sections a day- and 72 hours between treatments- it is time consuming and slightly messy as the gel for use with the machine is quite runny .

So I have given up after a few tries, although I am sure if I were to have persevered, I would have seen improvements in my cellulite.

For best results the CAVISLIM machine requires simultaneous healthy eating and masses of water consumption. This has also proved quite difficult for me as I am still on holiday mode at my Isle of Wight cottage with more alcohol consumption than water and loving the naughty seaside food!

I would recommend trying out this exciting new machine if you would like to recover your body from your Summer holiday excesses.
This is the perfect machine for those who like to do their own beauty treatments in the comfort of their own home and maybe already tint their own lashes and wax their legs. What better than also being able to keep your cellulite under control as well?

A bespoke SHARON PRESTON facial at the opening of her new HARLEY STREET SKINCARE CLINIC

I was invited to test drive a Sharon Preston facial at the opening of her new Harley Street skincare clinic at No 1 Harley Street.

Sharon is a senior international examiner for CIBTAC (where she is known as "the worldwide quality controller" for newly qualifying beauty therapists and has worked with all leading skincare brands,

Her hallmark treatment is the Sharon Preston Atelier (2hr) Facial.
I had a fantastic 1hr "taster"

After a skin diagnosis, using Skinceutical products that worked for my specific skin type, Sharon gave me a firm but relaxing face, neck and decolletage massage that stimulated and lifted whilst helping to drain toxins. My massage products had Vit C incorporated and Sharon used a Vit B face mask to finish off to re-hydrate. I can definitely say that the actual face massage felt to be one of the best I’ve had.

Grayshott Spa

A window of opportunity between personal client appointments and my next QVC TV Bob Mackie shows this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10th/11th and 12th March, found me in room no 8 at Grayshott Spa for some recuperation and relaxation "me" time.

Room no 8 – a lucky number in Chinese Feng Shui, has a south facing sun trap roof terrace. How lovely to sit outside on a sun lounger mid-March – (with many sweaters) reading magazines. Could never do this mid-week at home – I would be rushing for work. Must already be chilling and only been here 2 hours.

Healthy eating is easy at Grayshott and not a limp, lonely lettuce leaf in sight. Think four star gourmet restaurant dining with buffet spreads at lunchtime and 3 course dinners at night. But all courses are portion controlled, low fat and cleverly created both visually and calorifically. So the man in your life, if accompanying you, will not feel he is being starved whilst you are still being super-healthy.

Consultations with nurse Joannie and nutritionist Paula to agree my strategy for detox and de-stress. All my treatments are to be holistic (my choice). "Less is more" is their instructions – no gym, no rushing around and if I feel like doing absolutely nothing then that’s what I should do.

A steam room and an hour Thai foot massage with Faye, (nodded off during it – blissful!). Ended my day with Sue Woodd’s Chi Kung class. She is the most inspiring teacher I have ever met of Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Kung and is one of my reasons for my repeated return visits to Grayshott.

Day 2 spent all day doing absolutely nothing, reading magazines and eating! Yoga with Sue and another massage.

The remainder of my stay included a Rainforest Rejuvenating facial with Lisa. This hour long treatment included a foot and lower leg massage and exfoliation ( yes I know – nothing to do with the face – but nevertheless very enjoyable and relaxing and part of the treatment) and lymphatic facial massage with cleansing creams and mask.

A classic full body massage each day to moisturise and relax after the steam room. A Micronised marine Algae wrap to detox and help the immune system whilst I lay on a "dry" flotation bed for complete relaxation.

I did doze through most of my treatments but was awake enough to notice that they were of the highest standard. After 4 days of being exfoliated, massaged, oiled and buffed and chilled out with meditation, relaxation classes and Yoga and Chi Kung – I left Grayshott – slightly slimmer, healthier and fitter for the first time in 2 months. A spring in my step and a positive upbeat attitude again to 2011.
