My 5 a day grown all by myself in my Isle of Wight garden.
.
Proud learner gardener
.
Artichokes, mini orange and beefsteak tomatoes, rhubarb, blackberries, green and purple beans, apples and plums.
.
All grown with no pesticides
And
no supermarket plastic wrapping to throw away.
.
Its very rewarding being able to eat what you grow.

Village life in the Summer! 10 mini videos here on this post

Village life in the Summer!
10 mini videos here on this post. Swipe left after each one.

The St Helens village horticultural show Isle of Wight.

So no success with any of my veg entries this year. I entered beef tomatoes, mini purple tomatoes, and golden tomatoes, runner beans, purple French beans and rhubarb.

My only 5 apples produced from my apple tree each had a single nibble from a passing bird out of them before I could pick them!

However I did win 2 x second prizes for my pastel artwork of the dog and my watercolour beach view from the decking of a beach house.

My two 2nd place wins earned me 80p.
I will be going on a spending spree tomorrow.
As they now say it's all in the taking part-not the winning.

Those who have known me for years in my cool urban London lifestyle would never have imagined me growing fruit and vegs and entering them in the local village horticultural society's Summer show.

Do stuff outside your normal fast paced hectic and often stressful life. It's fun. .

There’s a heatwave coming! Keep hydrated

There's a heatwave coming!
Keep hydrated. Drinking 2 litres of water a day is important for a healthy body and hydrated youthful skin too.
With thanks to @rory_photo for the photo of me in my garden from last Summer.
