Mary Quant at the V&A part 2.
.
The thing that really stood out to me was how different the fabrics were that we wore then to now.
Much more rigid and flexible and quite bulky.
.
These video clips include:
The Daisy dress up doll ( I remember I had one of the cut out and paste books of these as a child.)!
1960s sportswear Quant style
The mini Quant wore to collect her OBE
The jersey dress ( the first time stretchy jersey had been used as a clothing fabric)
The Quant collection of everything from tights to sunglasses to makeup
The cape
Dresses with matching frilly pants
The journey of the mini from knee to very short.

The Mary Quant retrospective at the V&A museum.
The first of 2 posts of 10 video clips and photos.
Such an iconic designer that not only created fashion history in the 1960’s but changed how girls dressed-no longer like their mothers.
Fashion was suddenly fun.
Quant personified swinging London and the Kings Road Chelsea .

Chatting about age- and being real on BBC5live at 10.50am this morning with Emma Barnett.
.
Why I no longer feel the need to fib about my age even when I reach another milestone birthday. Looking in the mirror each morning isn’t always the best as i still feel like my younger self inside but the mirror tells a different story.
.
When we were in our teens or twenties, we aged ourselves up to appear more wordly and maybe to be taken more seriously by those older than us especially for career advancement.
.
However when we reached our 40s and onwards we fibbed and lopped years off to remain as long as possible in the previous decade.
.
Now that we look after ourselves better with a healthy lifestyle and diet, nutrition knowledge, fitness and beauty regimes, we can look our best and be proud of how we look naturally whatever our age.
.
I’m proud to look the way I do in my 60s.
.
Of course I would like to look like I did when I was in my 20s but I’ll settle for being the best version of how I am now.
.
I’ve had amazing life experiences in my 60plus years and two wonderful children.
Ive no need to fib any longer.
.
I want to inspire women of all ages.

I don’t road test just any treatment. I only try a treatment that I have fully researched beforehand and believe will really make a difference. I also make sure it doesn’t have downsides and go to the best therapist recommended to me.
This is a BDR facial.
It’s the leading Geman medical grade, non-invasive facial and skin treatment to rejuvenate the skin. It can help improve wrinkles, acne, skin tone and loss of volume.
My skin was looking tired and pasty and needed help after 3 weeks of a flu virus, bronchitis and 2 courses of antibiotics and steroids.
1. Peel + dermabrasion.
Which works on the top layers of the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines.
2. Microneedles + serum
Stimulates collagen and elastin production for hydration and volume.
3. Massage and LED
Works on every layer of the skin.
Lymphatic drainage and circulation massage to detoxify and tone. The LED light energy stimulates oxygenation and cell renewal.
The photos and video clips show the LED light, my before and after photos and the treatment stages.
Some of the treatment felt slightly odd sometimes but never painful. Sometimes a bit tingly. But mostly really quite pleasant and relaxing. .
I am having a course of 6 treatments and I will keep the progress posted.
My skin was slightly red after the treatment but nothing that was scary and definitely looked healthier and plumper the following day. .
There are BDR products, -cleanser, toner, 2 serums and a sun protective moisturiser to use twice daily throughout the course of the fortnightly treatments.
.
I created my Instagram to inspire and help women of all ages to be body positive and non-judgemental or super-critical of themselves or others. .
And to see what we look like with no filters.. .
No one is perfect. But we can all be the best versions of ourselves wrinkles, warts and all- everything that makes each of us unique.
.
C’est flatteur de recevoir ces critiques. Merci.
And thank you to all my new French followers. .

At 64, she shows that we can be proud of our body at any age, and we love it!
With the dictates of beauty that target women, women sometimes find it difficult to assume their bodies. A sixty-year-old proves that one can be good in one’s skin at all ages.
Be thin, do not have wrinkles… Women are subject to many injunctions as to their appearance. This can be a difficult weight to bear, which makes many of them feel bad about themselves. Fortunately, more and more voices are rising to denounce these dictates, and to show that there is not only one form of beauty. Ceril Campbell is one of them. At 64, she fully assumes her appearance on Instagram, and it feels good!
On the social network, the British woman regularly publishes photos of herself doing sports, having fun on the beach, eating good food … In short, enjoying life. But her account differs from that of other influencers on many points. First of all, it is with pride that Ceril Campbell displays her wrinkles, which are no longer signs of old age that must be hidden, but simple marks of time that show that we have lived. If she gives advice to stay in shape, she emphasizes that the most important thing is to feel good in your body and do what you want to do, without forcing yourself to have an impressive musculature. On some videos of her sports sessions she sometimes shows that she can not do it, to remember that there is no shame in having trouble doing things.
Ceril Campbell has known of these issues for a long time, since she was a life coach and image consultant for international stars. She knows how important the view of others can be, and that social networks can strongly influence the image one has of oneself. It can be negative, and lose the confidence one has in oneself. That’s why she gives this advice on her website: “I want you to look in the mirror and like what you see”. And she is right! Because, after all, what counts most is the image we have of ourselves, and not what others think of us. If she encourages women and men so much to work on the psychological aspect before working on the physical side, it is because she believes that one must be fulfilled to learn to love one’s body.
