Wednesday was National kindness day.

Do you know what’s really going on in people’s lives? Your friends? Your family? Your neighbours? Those you follow on social media?
Would you like to know if your friends or family are ok?
Do you ask?
Are you interested? .
Is what you see posted on Instagram the reality? Or is it an edited or filtered version of their reality?
The version they prefer you to see and maybe you choose to believe.

Do you believe everything you see?
What is real and what is not?
Do you compare?
Does it give you comparison anxiety?
Do you think you are not as successful, pretty, slim, rich, fit, popular as those you follow? .
Remember, nothing is ever as it seems.
Just as in @hotpatooties new book that I’m currently reading. The story is so true. .
Every single one of us has stuff going on in our lives that we may or may not want to discuss.
But it’s always nice to be asked.
You can always say thank you and everything is ok. Or no it’s not. And know someone is always there to listen to you.

Be kind and understanding.
And never judge a book by its cover.

This is the brilliant new Karndean flooring that I have recently put in the top floor of this Fulham house.
I am so impressed with it as it really does look and feel exactly like wood. .
It’s from the Karndean Korlock range and the colour is Texas White Ash. It has accoustic foam backing for soundproofing and is especially good for top floor bedrooms and apartments. .
I’ ve always been an engineered wood flooring advocate for my interiors styling clients until now. I think I may just have had my head turned by Karndean.

I would show how clothes can flatter and sculpt your body shape to attract the eye to your best bits and detract from those you like least.

Everyone can dress to be the best versions of themselves with no need to use apps or filters on their social media posts.

No celebrity I have ever dressed in all my 30 years as a celebrity stylist has had a perfect body. We are all unique and should embrace our own individuality. .

Its important to stay flexible as you grow older.

Not necessarily as flexible as myself as I have hyper-mobility which is not a good thing so I have to be careful to not over-stretch.
Especially as I had a hip resurface ( like Andy Murray) a few years ago.

However exercising, stretching and moving every day, even if its just a 20 min dog walk will make a difference to your body, how you feel and also your mental health.

Final day of my 5 day fast-mimicking Prolon diet.

From tomorrow, I will be eating predominantly vegetables and slowly re-introducing protein with fish and chicken back into my daily diet.

As my 65th birthday approaches, I felt it increasingly important to take stock of my health, returning to healthy eating and regular exercise as it had all gone pear-shaped during the Summer.

Friends say to me “but you look fine as you are” you don’t need to lose weight” but visceral fat ( the internal fat around your organs can also be inside a slim or even skinny person. Also we all know that to look good we need to FEEL good as well.

Visceral fat is a type of body fat that can’t be pinched or seen with the naked eye, and it surrounds vital organs, including the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Keeping levels of visceral fat can reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, the onset of type 2 diabetes and many other illnesses.
