Good morning Monday

Good morning Monday.
Here's to a great week.
.
I'm wearing:
Zara dress (this season £19)!
And
Debenhams Jacket (2018)
John Lewis Valentino Rockstud look-alike shoes (2018)
Whole outfit under £100
.
Btw...
To all who look at others' Instaposts wishing that your life is as glamorous, colourful, fun, full of socialising and excitement -
Most people's are not, Including my own. .
I'm not out every night, nor am I at the gym everyday. .
My posts are simply the parts of my life that I hope are interesting.
.
I hope to inspire with lifestyle tips of fashion, style, fitness, nutrition, health and beauty as a 64 year old woman with no filters or editing to show that you can be active, fit and enjoy life to the full whatever age you are. .

Think it's part of Pilates "Teasers".

Trying to sit up as tall as possible whilst keeping the back as straight as possible too.

Still keeping supple at age 64

Still keeping supple at age 64.
.
Not necessarily the most flattering position but hey... at least the body is still mobile, even with the left hip re-surfaced a few years ago and various other injuries.
.
For my fitness regime I try to do Pilates, mat or reformer, 3 times a week. Anything else is in addition or if I can't get to a Pilates class.
.
My Pilates posts aren't always real time so don't believe I am a fitness fanatic and exercising every single day - I'm not! .
If I'm in the Isle of Wight I love to horse ride on the beach.
.
I also do occasional dance classes which can help memory as well as fitness, as concentration is needed to remember routines.
.
Boxing mixed with HIIT in the gym is great for cardio and fat burning and also concentration as I dont want to be punched on the nose

#tbthursdays to when I was a teenager

to when I was a teenager.
Wearing denim on denim in the Jean Machine on the Kings Road Chelsea. Maybe 1970.
.
The denim shirt was studded.
I added an YSL diamante star brooch which was a must have then.
Chunky belt and chunky silver bracelet.
.
We used to pour ourselves into our jeans, the denim had no elastine added then. We wore the smallest size possible and lay down on the floor using a coat hanger handle to pull up the zip or even asked someone for their help.
.
The Jean Machine back in the day was a super cool place and everyone came to buy their jeans there including celebrities who we all shamelessly pounced on to get them to be our customer as we were on commission for every jean sale. We all earned a lot of money on Saturdays for ourselves in cash and for the owners too! .
The photos weren't filtered.
We accepted our photos as they were, even if we didn't look perfect. Perfect wasn't an option.
.
No one would ever have considered taking photos or selfies then as we had no mobile phones only proper cameras, and those were used for dedicated photography on holidays or occasions or proper photoshoots. Definitely not recording a day's random activities publicly. No one would have wanted their activities on public view at that time. Everyone was too badly behaved.
.
No-one had comparison anxiety then.
We might aspire to look like the models or actors in magazines, ads, films or TV.
There were no reality TV stars. .
We may have wanted to be skinnier like the models or fit in a smaller pair of jeans, but no one judged our body shapes. .
Mental health or anxiety was never mentioned.
.
We lived in the moment and engaged with life around us. We were the generation that were no longer like our mothers tied by their apron strings to the kitchen and the home.
.
The world was our oyster.
.

Wednesday Pilates

Wednesday Pilates.
.
Shoulder stand.
An exercise challenging the lower abs.
Using the lower tummy muscles to get the rise up rather than just momentum.
.
When I post a video clip of an exercise I've done, I notice how I could have done it a bit better. .
I had felt I was right up tall onto my shoulders with my body more perpendicular than it was. .
Once up in the air, this exercise can be continued with the legs then going further backwards, toes to the reformer over the head and then reversing back over again. .

Chatting about age- and being real on BBC5live at 10.50am this morning with Emma Barnett.
.
Why I no longer feel the need to fib about my age even when I reach another milestone birthday. Looking in the mirror each morning isn't always the best as i still feel like my younger self inside but the mirror tells a different story.
.
When we were in our teens or twenties, we aged ourselves up to appear more wordly and maybe to be taken more seriously by those older than us especially for career advancement.
.
However when we reached our 40s and onwards we fibbed and lopped years off to remain as long as possible in the previous decade.
.
Now that we look after ourselves better with a healthy lifestyle and diet, nutrition knowledge, fitness and beauty regimes, we can look our best and be proud of how we look naturally whatever our age.
.
I'm proud to look the way I do in my 60s.
.
Of course I would like to look like I did when I was in my 20s but I'll settle for being the best version of how I am now.
.
I've had amazing life experiences in my 60plus years and two wonderful children.
Ive no need to fib any longer.
.
I want to inspire women of all ages.

Reformer pilates

Reformer pilates.
Glute and core stability strengthening bridge exercise.
.
Trying to remember to keep hips equalized, turn on and engage the core, glutes, hamstrings and lower ab muscles required for the movement and to come back down from the bridge with control and the discs of the spine moving smoothly and sequentially. The opposite arm to the supporting leg is pressing into the reformer as the heel presses into the bar.

As with all my Instagram posts I hope to demonstrate that no-one including myself is perfect in real life.

But we can all do our best, work towards being our best versions of ourselves ( without edits or Instagram filters), whatever age, bodyshape or size we are.

BDR is Spain’s most popular skin treatment, apparently even used regularly by the Queen of Spain

is Spain’s most popular skin treatment, apparently even used regularly by the Queen of Spain.
.
After my own two treatments spaced at two weeks apart, I can notice visible results in the revitalisation, toning and plumping of my 64-year old skin.
.
This is not a paid collaboration. This is a non-invasive, non-surgical facial treatment I’m road testing for myself with the excellent beauty aesthetician/owner of the Elenique beauty clinic in Fulham SW6 and Irina from BDR. I only ever try treatments which I have thoroughly researched beforehand. I want to know exactly what a treatment involves, what results are promised, its safety, possible downsides and most importantly the qualifications of the beautician, aesthetician, practitioner performing it. .
I am showing the treatment in its 10 stages with video clips.
.
I was even able to go to @alicehartdavis book launch event ( ) last night with a makeup-free radiant skin.
Many of the beauty experts there commented on how good my skin looked straight after this treatment and it wasn’t red at all either. .
I can highly recommend trying this treatment at this excellent local Fulham, SW London clinic.
The attention, care and expertise put into every part of their treatments are second to none.
