Ask your friends or your family how they see you?
The answer will always be more positive than how you believe they perceive you and how you see yourself.
You will be so surprised
So
Think of one word to describe ……
“How you see yourself.
And
then,
“How you think others see you.
“How you’d like others to see you.”
And start asking….
.
Did your three answers match?
I want you to love what you see in the mirror.
The same as how others see you.
That unique, glamorous, confident, sexy, ageless beautiful woman who doesn’t compare herself to others.

Good morning. Good Friday

My happy place by the sea with dogs @misslucy_lou and family for Easter weekend.
.
This picture was taken by my daughter on our morning dog walk after 4 days of the 5 day Prolon intermittent fast-mimicking 1000 calorie a day diet plan. My daughter commented I was looking significantly slimmer. I don’t know how much weight I’ve lost as I prefer to not weigh as I don’t believe obsessing with weight or calories is a healthy mindset.
.
The scientifically researched mix of vitamin supplements together with the packeted vegan soups, nut and cocoa bars and fresh olives were actually really tasty and quite easy to manage for 5 days without feeling faint or too hungry or deprived. I do like my food. .
Prolon do caution no exercise during this period, however I did have a yoga class and dog walks and was fine. .
Intermittent fasting is how I live day to day always leaving 12 hours after my last meal to my first of the following day. And when I can, 2 consecutive days a week, leaving 16-18 hours overnight ( an early supper, no breakfast, late lunch) . Not difficult. .
So these 5 days mimicked this way of eating but with reduced calorific intake. Much the same as the Michael Mosely 1000 cal a day eating plan for helping to reverse type 2 diabetes.
.
Happy Easter everyone.
I’m now looking forward to family Easter weekend with proper meals which are still healthy and also a bite or two or three of a dark chocolate Easter egg.

With the brilliant Bryony Gordon after her open, honest and funny talk in the first of a series of ” Live Well” inspirational talks at the Hurlingham club.
.
Loved Bryony and her no filter approach to life and being true and authentic to who she is.
.
That “we should all be kinder to ourselves”
And “We should say NO more often”
Were two of Bryony’s thoughts that resonated most with me. .
Most women are so self-critical and often feel they are not enough. But they are and should allow themselves to be who they are.
That is why Bryony’s Instagram is always real and never filtered and so is mine too- hopefully to inspire women of all ages.
Never to try to be something they are not.
Be individual and unique.
.
Great to meet you Bryony and have a chat at the end. .
I really enjoyed listening to you talking spontaneously with no prompts, with your energy and joie de vivre and how you now embrace life sober and grab it by the balls.

Mary Quant at the V&A part 2.
.
The thing that really stood out to me was how different the fabrics were that we wore then to now.
Much more rigid and flexible and quite bulky.
.
These video clips include:
The Daisy dress up doll ( I remember I had one of the cut out and paste books of these as a child.)!
1960s sportswear Quant style
The mini Quant wore to collect her OBE
The jersey dress ( the first time stretchy jersey had been used as a clothing fabric)
The Quant collection of everything from tights to sunglasses to makeup
The cape
Dresses with matching frilly pants
The journey of the mini from knee to very short.

The Mary Quant retrospective at the V&A museum.
The first of 2 posts of 10 video clips and photos.
Such an iconic designer that not only created fashion history in the 1960’s but changed how girls dressed-no longer like their mothers.
Fashion was suddenly fun.
Quant personified swinging London and the Kings Road Chelsea .

Your thoughts ladies??? .
Does this ad campaign help give you body confidence?
Feel better about your own body image?
Understand that no one is perfect ( unless they’ve airbrushed or filtered).
.
If I can undress at the age of 64 together with these other brave and confident women of all ages, shapes, sizes.. then you too should be confident enough to embrace the body you actually have.
.
Btw, I had no name for my boobs in this video.
However I actually did… I called them “my girls!” What do you call yours? .
@eliza_h
New work out today 71% of women felt typical lingerie ads appealed to men and we knew it was time to get real. We’ve had enough of Victoria Secret’s catwalks and unattainable photoshopped perfection. We took to the streets and cast real women of all shapes and sizes.
.
Today and over the next 4 weeks we’ll be celebrating diversity and encouraging women to embrace their bodies as they are. From “Lemon drops” to “Ant & Dec” we say .

I’d forgotten that I’d been a Schwarzkopf brand ambassador a few years ago for their hair loss product myself so this is a short clip of me from their ad campaign back in the day.
.
I am posting about hairloss today as one of my young women clients was very concerned at the amount of hair she was losing.
I did a lot of research and consulted a trichologist with her. One in London I can highly recommend if you need one esp as she looked at the person holistically. She was reassuring and super-helpful.
.
Here are some suggestions to help prevent further hair loss.
.
Never brush or use a tangle teaser when hair is wet as it is more elastic when wet and can stretch and break off more easily.
.
Never pull hair back tightly with thin hair elastic bands, always softer thicker ties and loosely.
.
Use natural shampoos and conditioners, .
Use as little direct heat( dryers, tongs, straightening irons) as possible.
.
Don’t massage the scalp where there is hairloss, it will make it worse not better.
.
If colouring try to use natural hair colour products, if bleaching ask your colourist for the lowest possible peroxide % in the mix
And never let your colourist over colour or overlap the colour each time. Leave as long as possible between appts to allow for root regrowth.
.
Hair loss can happen at any age post pregnancy, menopause, at times of severe stress or trauma (and of course with chemo). Also from lack of iron (anaemia) lack of vit D, over- exercising, underactive thyroid, lack of vit B , autoimmune disease, dramatic weightloss, PCOS and hormonal inbalances.
.
Please have a full blood test to check if you do have vitamin or mineral deficiences and you can then supplement. If possible include a hormone check too.
Remember the mind is a powerful tool and positivity is key.
.
Here is my 96 year old auntie,
me age 64,
and @misslucy_lou The Westie x Bichon dog. .
Women of all ages can still be naturally beautiful, with no filters applied to enhance or manipulate.
.
Beauty comes from within and shines out when you’re happy in your own skin, together with confidence, positivity and positive body language. .
Being fake isn’t beautiful.
Being real is.
Be the best you can be in your real life.
.
Love yourself and believe you are worth it.
.
Embrace all life has to offer and grab it with both hands and be grateful for everything you have. My 96 year old auntie does and is the funniest and most irreverent person I know.
And she still likes to dress stylishly and glamorously whenever she goes out, always with makeup and definitely lipstick.
.

.
.
Appreciate your life and each day you’re here. You never know what tomorrow brings.
.
Be grateful for your good health, your happiness, your family, and your ‘inner’ beauty whatever age, body shape or size you are. .
We are all different and unique and that’s what makes each and everyone special.
.
My photo was from 20 years ago ( so I must have been maybe in my early 40’s as I’m now 64. This was before filters and apps, but beautifully and flatteringly lit by the photographer. .
I know I didn’t appreciate how I looked then and was certainly more critical of myself then than I am now in my old age. .
We all get older and should grow old gracefully or disgracefully if you prefer, whilst being your own person and not caring what others say or how they judge you- especially through social media. .
