What do you wear when you’re off to dinner at a cool London restaurant on a first date?

What do you wear when you're off to dinner at a cool London restaurant on a first date? .
In my case.... Zara jacket ( last season)
Leather-look jeans ( current season Zara) 
Black patent stiletto boots. ( vintage) .
In my opinion first date clothes should appear understated and thrown together stylishly.
Like you made an effort to look nice but didn't try too hard. 
Never lots of cleavage and lots of leg together-only one or the other. .
I like to dress age appropriately , never the mutton dressed as lamb, but I do still like to wear clothes with an edge.
As I am age 60+ my skirts or dresses aren't ever shorter than knee length and only a glimpse of cleavage not too much.
.
Not everything on show.
Less is always more. 
However shoes can definitely always be sexy whatever your age.
.
Dress to suit your body shape and size, and create optical illusions to flatter your best bits and detract from your least favourite bits. .
I always want my clients to feel confident and love themselves when they look in the mirror. .
It's the whole of you that's attractive -your personality, your confidence and your body language. .
No one is judging you in real life. . 
Be positive and dress to impress.
First impressions count.

Age is just a number!

Here is my 96 year old auntie,
me age 64, 
and @misslucy_lou The Westie x Bichon dog. .
Women of all ages can still be naturally beautiful, with no filters applied to enhance or manipulate.
.
Beauty comes from within and shines out when you're happy in your own skin, together with confidence, positivity and positive body language. .
Being fake isn't beautiful.
Being real is. 
Be the best you can be in your real life.
.
Love yourself and believe you are worth it.
.
Embrace all life has to offer and grab it with both hands and be grateful for everything you have. My 96 year old auntie does and is the funniest and most irreverent person I know.
And she still likes to dress stylishly and glamorously whenever she goes out, always with makeup and definitely lipstick.

Eat Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Queen

Eat Breakfast like a King, 
Lunch like a Queen. 
Dinner like a Pauper.
.
My breakfast here was eaten late morning and was a 2 organic egg omelette with spinach and Gruyere cheese (a brand made with raw cow's milk for gut health).
.
Nutritional science helping our bodies function best evolves all the times with new findings. .
Breakfast doesn't have to be 1st thing in the morning but at least 12 hours after your last meal of the day. This could mean that if you ate last at 8pm then your breakfast is anytime from 8am again.  If you are following an intermittent 16/18 fasting regime (2 consecutive days a week), then your breakfast would be around midday to 2pm. .
Then your subsequent 2 or 3 meals can  be squeezed into an 8 hour window. .

Here I am at his talk, Q&A and launch of his new book and diet regime for good gut health and reduction of both external fat/weight and internal visceral fat surrounding the organs. This can reverse Type 2 Diabetes and many other lifestyle illnesses.

This style of eating with intermittent fasting is similar to how I live and eat, and teach my clients to eat. .
I personally choose to have a 12 hour fast overnight into the following day with 2 days a week of 16/18 hours overnight fasting. 
I dont restrict my own calories unless it's after Christmas or after lots of partying or entertaining. 
I do like my food and I like to enjoy life. .
It's a very easy regime to follow and continue as a lifestyle choice -NOT a faddy diet.

It works! 
Apparently Hugh Jackman and Aiden Turner both follow this healthy eating plan too

Did you know cocoa powder is full of fibre which is good for you?

This is the chocolate kidney bean cake recipe from Dr Michael Mosley's GP wife,  and creator of recipes in his intermittent fasting 5:2 diet regimes and his new book 'Thefast800'.

I road tested it when meeting Dr Mosley and his wife this morning and can confirm it's yummy and healthy. .

We are all different and unique and that's what makes each and everyone special.

My photo was from 20 years ago ( so I must have been maybe in my early 40's as I'm now 64.  This was before filters and apps, but beautifully and flatteringly lit by the photographer. .
I know I didn't appreciate how I looked then and was certainly more critical of myself then than I am now in my old age. .
We all get older and should grow old gracefully or disgracefully if you prefer, whilst being your own person and not caring what others say or how they judge you- especially through social media. .
